The Masters leaderboard is full of a variety of golfers who are in contention for the prestigious Green Jacket. As the tournament progresses, it’s a matter of who can take control of the final three rounds to win the tournament. With a number of the world’s best players in the mix, there will be plenty of drama on the leaderboard at Augusta National.
The defending champion Scottie Scheffler is in the hunt for another green jacket after shooting a bogey-free 68 in the second round of The Masters. He is tied with Corey Conners and Ludvig Aberg for the lead at 6-under. Rory McIlroy is also in the hunt for a career grand slam after posting an even par in his first round.
Defending champion Patrick Reed shot 2-under 70 to move into third place. He is tied with 2024 Masters runner-up Ludvig Aberg at 6-under par. 2023 Masters winner Jon Rahm is one stroke back in fifth place after a birdie at the first hole.
Davis Riley and Patton Kizzie have posted the first scores of the day with Riley shooting a par and Kizzire a bogey. Riley hit his tee shot into the pine straw and had to punch out, while Kizzire was right of the fairway bunker on the 17th and had to make a 5-foot putt for par.
Fred Couples and Bernhard Langer are both 1-under through 11 holes. Langer was in danger of missing the cut after sprayed his tee shot on No. 18 into the trees, but he was able to save par.
